- History: Founded in 1980 by Alan Gevins, an MIT engineer and internationally known neuroscientist, the lab is at the forefront of human cognitive neuroscience research and neurotechnology engineering research and development.
The lab was previously part of the Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute at
the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco,
where Alan Gevins was the director from 1974 to 1980.
- Scientific & Engineering Work: The lab's achievements are documented in 150+
peer-reviewed publications including 4 papers in Science and 19 issued US patents.
- Unique Focus: The lab has strived to extend the state of the
art across four generations of human neurophysiological and multimodal brain imaging research and systems development.
The lab's interdisciplinary scientists, engineers and
university collaborators
together constitute a uniquely focused team to advance knowledge and develop systems that measure neurophysiological
signals of human cognition.
